I play a LOT of solo gigs, concentrating on having a good time, exercising my excellent judgement (in what a crowd really wants to hear:) and trying to avoid flop sweat...I cull from a huge musical library of material that I A)97.2 percent really like, and B)due to my extended time on this planet, playing and writing music, I can cover a lot of musical ground. I've played at least a hundred and two bars in the area and have been a regular performer at the Tradewinds Island Grand for 12 years, the Hard Rock Casino, the Tampa Bay Rays, Downtown Disney, The Ringside Cafe, Cha Cha Coconuts, the Green Iguana, Channelside Courtyard, Palm Pavillion, Jimmy B's, etc...I'm an Ohio rocker at heart but I love living in Florida!

The Moonsnakes

"...Wilcox's Moonsnakes merged jangle pop and Merseybeat seamlessly." Tampa Tribune, May 01, 2011

"Ricky Wilcox and the Moonsnakes...  Balancing the sounds of rockabilly, roots rock and '90s-flavored power pop jangle, adding a healthy dollop of Southern twang and gritty soul, and you've got yourself Ricky Wilcox and the Moonsnakes, led by St. Pete musician Wilcox (one-time drummer of Deloris Telescope, currently on guitar and vox) and also featuring local axeman/producer Steve Connelly. This show celebrates the release of their new record, Last Day on Planet Earth; according to WMNF's Duncan Strauss, "it's loaded with one irresistible melody after another and tons of gorgeous vocal harmonies…" Creative Loafing Tampa, April 6 2012

selected as one one Tampa Bay's best rock acts in the 2012 Ulimate Local Music Guide...tbt*, April 13, 2012

The Moonsnakes are a five piece rock and roll band, put together for the most part, to play my original material in the way it was conceived and recorded. In what I would proudly call a power-pop format, we like to sing a lot of cool harmonies, play with a dynamic that utilises the beauty of both loud and quiet, and hopefully, have a preponderance of discernable we hope you come away humminhg a tune or two. I have been blessed in this band to play with some of the area's most talented players...featuringSteve Connelly on guitar, Jim Brown on bass, Alex Wolfe-Parnes on drums, and Jeff Graves on guitar and keys.

The Little Kings "high energy retro acoustic R&R duo/trio"

The Little Kings feature myself on acoustic guitar and my fellow Cincinnatian Tere Bertke on upright electric bass. Both members of the British Invasion group The Shaguars, we bring a unique acoustic twist and a surge of energy to that material as well as a great variety of other cool covers and some original stuff as well. We have been regulars at Downtown Disney/Splittsville, Rumfish Grill @ The Guy Harvey, the Hard Rock Cafe Lobby Bar, The Florida Folk music series, and The Wiregrass Mall music series...We named ourselves after the iconic Cincy creme ale. Tere and I both played the Ohio and Michigan club circuit- but never in the same bands. Tere lived in Nashville for 5 years and played bass and toured with famous country band Blackhawk. We both ended up in Florida, and 20 years later, we finally got together to play the music we love and grew up on.

Dick and Feef

Dick and Feef is a high energy campy pop duo...and "you can't stop us" (band motto!)...for over 20 years (good lord) my good friend Fifi (aka Kathy Randall) and your truly have been rocking it out in the Bay area, utilizing Feef's amazing vocal abilities and keyboard work, our unique chemistry (something that just seems to click), and a creative sound combining acoustic guitar, rollicking keyboards, boy/girl harmonies, and sequencing. We recently completed an amazing 10 year run at the Tradewinds Resort, and continue to play frequently, often with the (much larger, by which I mean additional musicians) band The Respectables. 60's, Motown, Elvis, quirky pop classics you want it - we got it.
